Get Back is a model for the open-access publication of academic research in the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. Operating at the meeting point of Cultural Studies, Politics, Philosophy, History, Economics, Art, Literature and Social Sciences, Get Back’s objective is to encourage, facilitate and publish high-quality open-access research in these diverse, yet interconnected fields. Our work is carried out in the interests of equality of opportunity and free availability of socially and culturally significant research.
Get Back is an online resource and content is formally peer reviewed by working academics. Any printed editions come under ISSN 2041-160X

Get Back aims to provide a space in which the joyous freedom of blogging meets the intellectual rigour of published journals. With this in mind we favour submissions with medium to long term viewpoints and which engage with the wider context surrounding the writer’s argument or view.
As with any academic journal we expect all submissions to be critically reflective, take into account conflicting viewpoints and be fully referenced where appropriate.
Opinion Pieces: Should be 800-1200 words in length and and meet all of the requirements set out above
Essays/Features: Should be 1500 – 4000 words in length and meet all of the requirements set out above
Fiction/Poetry: Should be no more than 2000 words in length, can be submitted in any format and must meet all of the requirements set out above
All submissions will be subject to editorial amendments. Any amendments will only be made to structure, grammar and spelling and will not alter opinions or focus of arguments. Any concerns arising from such amendments should be sent to Get Back using the contact form on the homepage within 48hrs of publication on the site.
All contributors, by submitting work to be considered for publication, automatically give assurances that their submissions contain no plagiarism and do not infringe copyright in any way. If a published piece of work is found to have broken any of these assurances, full responsibility lies with the writer, not with Get Back Publishing or getback.org.uk.
